It depends on the holder. Jaw cradles list a width range where the supplier provided one; magnetic holders need a MagSafe-style ring in the phone or case; every product page says what was verified and what wasn't. Check your phone with its case against the listing before ordering.

The one matched to a mounting point your car actually has and you don't need for something else. For most cars that is a dashboard suction or vent mount; for cars with an unused CD slot, a CD slot mount is the least intrusive; magnetic mounts need a magnetic ring in the phone or case. Favor mounts that support the phone from below (side jaws plus lower feet or ledges) with short arms, mounted low on a smooth part of the dash or on a vent slat with room behind it. Long suction arms and vent clips are the two designs most likely to sag under a large phone in a thick case. Set any mount up while parked and give it a firm shake before the first drive.
