Auto Tracking Phone Holder: A Desktop Face-Tracking Holder

Filming yourself alone has a familiar problem. On Reddit, one person who films alone said that for the longest time they would “set my phone on a tripod, hit record and then sprint into frame only to find out later that the angle looked weird.” Another said a friend was “worried that the camera would point to people moving at adjacent tables or passerby.”

An auto tracking phone holder is one answer: our collection describes these as holders that turn to follow a subject. We sell one, so read this as a shop’s notes on its own listing and collection page.

What our listing says

We list the Desktop Face-Tracking Phone Holder in our tracking phone holders collection, which says: “Compare holders that turn to follow a subject.”

Our listing describes these parts:

3. Body. A cylindrical body with a front-facing sensor and control area.
4. Base. A round slotted base.
5. Stud. A threaded stud above the phone clamp.

The listing describes it as an auto tracking phone holder with face-following and gesture functions, and says: “These are listed features.”

Before you order

Our listing gives these checks:

1. Fit and requirements. Check phone and case fit, power requirements and any required app or operating-system support with the listing.
2. Placement. Place the holder on a stable, level surface and check that the phone sits securely before starting a recording.
3. Your setting. Test framing and the listed tracking function in your intended setting.

The last check matters for the concern above about nearby tables: try the tracking where you will actually film.
